Optical
Fibre Cable
Optilan provides optical fibre cable to the
highways industry either installed and commissioned
as a component of a turnkey telecommunications
project, or on a supply only basis if required.
Cable is individually designed to customer specification,
generally featuring a multi-loose tube construction
around a central strength member.
The attached data sheets illustrate examples
of Highways Agency approved duct cable recently
supplied by Optilan to specific contracts:

and Media Converters from Luxcom
Optilan Have been selling
and supporting the Luxcom range of optical fibre
modems, multiplexers and tranceivers for over
a decade.
Luxcom and Optilan have
worked closely together to develop a number
of products specifically designed to meet the
requirements of the Highways industry. These
include:
Automatic
Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
Optilan is a distributor
and installer of
'Talon' ANPR systems
and associated equipment from Appian Technology
PLC
'Talon' uses neural network
technology it recogniese number plates in the
most extrmely conditions, day and night. The
system is in use by a number of UK metropolitan
and regional police
forces.
Ethernet Switches, Servers and Media Converters
For rugged, substation-hardened
networking and communications devices specificaly
designed to operate in safety critical environments
like road transportation, Optilan is the Partner
and Distributor for the
RuggedCom range of Gigabit Ethernet Switches,
Servers and media converters.
Ethernet
switches
A family of fibre optical and
copper Ethernet switches using Zero-Package-Loss*
technology and advanced layer 2 networking and
management functions.
Media Converters
Industrial strength Ethernet copper-to-fibre media conversion allowing for 10baseT-to-10baseFLl and 100BaseTX-to-100BaseFX conversion over single mode or mutlimode fibre.
Server Technology
An industrially hardened multiport Serial-to-Ethernet server that allows legacy serial devices to connect to high speed Ethernet networks at 10bps or 100 mbs via copper or fibre.
The server provides four isolated (2kV) serial ports of RS232/485/422 plus an integrated 4-port Ethernet swtich and an optional V.90 moden for remote connectivity.
SDH Multiplexers
The
TN1U was originally developed for the very
demanding environment of the Power Utilities.
For the transportation industry, the TN1U cost-effectively
integrates applications including loop detection,
CCTV/ANPR, VMS, emergency voice etc using an
SDH architecture.
The TN1U’s integrated
Network Management System provides ease of maintenance
with PC GUI based software or optional SNMP,
whilst the compact size, robust design and low
power consumption of the unit allows flexible
placement of a telecom node anywhere along the
transportation corridor. |
