FEED Studies and Design

There are many Engineering companies in the Oil and Gas Industry who do not require telecoms engineers on a full time basis. Optilan is pleased to help by providing Engineers on an ‘ad hoc’ basis to move forward the telecoms design on a project. Typically, Optilan will be given the task of writing a Telecoms Philosophy, producing Block Diagrams or drawing up individual package specifications.

Optilan typically acts as Main Telecommunications Contractor to Oil and Gas projects – for this reason, we will not provide Engineering services on a project where it may preclude us from bidding on the main integration package.

Optilan believe that telecommunications provides the ‘glue’ that combines many of the different engineering systems together and, as such, is critical to systems performance. Consequently, Optilan are always interested in being involved in the FEED stage of projects, ensuring that integration issues are dealt with at the earliest possible point in the process.

Through taking a high level, holistic approach to telecommunications system specification, rather than regarding systems integration as a process of adapting to accommodate ‘add-ons’ at later stages, Optilan aims to help create the basis for a True Lifecycle programme addressing all project stages.
