Southend-on-Sea CCTV Transmission Networ
In 1996, Optilan designed
and built for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council
an optical fibre transmission
network for a 24 camera CCTV
system, linking 6 street cabinet nodes to
the Council CCTV Control Centre. This included
the provision of transmission cabinets, fibre
optic cable (64 fibre) and video/data transmission
equipment.
In 2000, the system was extended and Optilan supplied, installed and commissioned fibre transmission equipment and cabling to accommodate 100 additional cameras with links, including IP connectivity, with the Police Station, Car Parks etc as well as a new, much larger Control Centre.
The network was further extended in 2003 to support traffic management and surveillance on the refurbished London road A13 and, most recently, to provide monitoring, surveillance and emergency PA systems on the newly renovated pier.
Optilan continues to provide first line transmission systems maintenance and support services, and emergency fibre repairs and rerouting for what is now a 250+ camera security system. |
