As subcontractors to Bombardier, Optilan has provided an 8 node SDH based transmission system to the Portuguese light rail system, linking subsystems for signalling.

The fibre optic link was provided for transmission of signalling data between the EBI Lock interlocking, object controllers and EBI Screen control centre.
