Optilan provides both Integrated Systems and Cable Installation and Maintenance services to the Light Rail Industry, both in the UK and internationally, particularly in Europe and Asia.

Optilan has been active in Light Rail telecommunications infrastructure since the company’s inception in 1992, and employs a large field engineering force experienced in working in a Light Rail environment.

A typical integrated system comprises a transmission system, often SDH based, acting as a spine for a range of subsystems at stations along the network, which may include passenger information, CCTV, telephone, as well as signalling and trackside applications.

Optilan’s dual strengths in systems integration and cabling services mean that Optilan can provide ‘total systems solutions’ to the Light Rail Industry, from systems design and configuration to the installation of telecommunications infrastructure and associated civil works.

Optilan provides full 24 hour support, maintenance and upgrade services for both cabling and integrated systems.
