Optilan designs and supplies SDH based transmission systems for the Rail sector, using Rail Safety Case Approved components and typically incorporating:

  • An STM1 (1310 nm)/ STM4 (1550 nm) ring based architecture, providing for up to 30 nodes.
  • Ethernet 10baseT and 100baseT bandwidth capabilities
  • E1 2mb G703 standards for GSMR radio circuits
  • RS232, RS422 and RS485 access level data circuits
  • Pic22 wire and 4 wire telephony, radio and modem interfaces
  • Wavelet & Mpeg 4 video interfaces

The TN1Ue SDH Multiplexer is central to Optilan Rail Transmission Systems. Designed specifically for the transportation industry and similar harsh environments, it is robust, flexible multiplexer, featuring an integrated network management system with built in test capabilities, and has an excellent performance record for both Mainline and Light Rail applications.
