Optilan is All England Fibre Works Contractor for Easynet, and has been providing preventative and emergency maintenance services to the 6000 km national network since 1998 .

Optilan has also been responsible for the installation of in excess of 300 km of optical fibre cable, expanding the network over waterways and highways infrastructure throughout the UK.

During the installation phases, cable for waterways infrastructure was delivered and installed from barges. 120km of blown cable were installed canalside – the first time this technique has been used in a waterways environment. Both blown and pulled fibre techniques were used elsewhere during the project.
