Cernavoda
Cernavoda
is Romania’s only nuclear power station,
currently supplying more than 10% of Romania’s
electricity demand.
Unit 2 of Cernavoda is currently under construction.
Subcontracted to GE Energy Services, Optilan
is providing of telecommunications equipment
and services to Cernavoda, supporting teleprotection
between the power station and its associated
substations, and providing interconnectivity
via an Ethernet LAN.
Optilan’s scope of work covers the specification
of communications equipment, procurement, build
and Factory Acceptance Test. Optilan are also
scheduled to undertake commissioning activities
on site in Romania at the next scheduled outage.
The equipment provided includes:
- A total of 6 x TN1U
SDH multiplexers for teleprotection
- 25 Modular Fibre Optic
Ethernet Switches and associated transmission
equipment
- Associated Fibre Optic
Patch Panels, Cables etc
